MY AIRPODS LOCKED ME OUT OF MY ROOM
If you’re lucky enough to have one of those new fangled Apple AirPods I know you absolutely love them but beware when you are traveling. If you put the case in the same pocket as your room key card or your credit cards there’s a huge chance that your card is going to stop working. That’s exactly what happened to several of our group when we were cruising the Mexican Riviera recently. The AirPods case is actually a tiny battery charger that magnetically closes to keep them secure. As a lot of us found out, getting key cards next to the AirPods case in our pockets caused the circuits in the key card to lose the ability to unlock our doors.
The good news was the cruise staff was easily able to reactivate our room keys. The bad news was that we had to hike to the passenger services desk to get it done. And while this all happened on our cruise the very same thing could take place when you stay at a hotel or put a credit card near by. The solution to avoid the problem: use different pockets for you Airpods and key cards.
There was an up side to our experience though. On the way back to our cabins we all stopped off for some late night pizza on the Lido deck.
